What is Rush?
Rush is a time when you can acquaint yourself with all the organizations on campus so you can make sure that you find yourself the right one. One of the most important things to remember is to keep an open mind. Kappa Phi Lambda's rush provides an opportunity for all those interested to come out and get to know our Sisters and see what we're about. Our rush is designed especially for you to be able to come out and have a good time, providing a relaxed environment for you to ask questions and interact with our Sisters. And best of all, everything is free!

Why Kappa Phi Lambda?
A sorority is defined as: A chiefly social organization of women students at a college or university, usually designated by Greek letters. Well, Kappa is so much more. What makes us different from a club is that we are founded on the idea of Sisterhood. A Sister is always there to lend an ear, to give a helping hand, share your happiness with. Sisterhood is eternal. Be a leader and not a follower. As one of the fastest growing organizations of its kind, be a part of the foundation, don't just be another face. There are unlimited opportunities to meet new people, network, and prepare for your future. Build strong leadership qualities that are invaluable. With Kappa, there is never a dull moment. With year long commitments to community service, our philanthropy, and of course mixers and parties, your college career is sure to be a well-rounded one.

Do I Have to be Asian to Join?
Absolutely not. Kappa Phi Lambda is an Asian interest sorority but we do not exclude ourselves to only Asian sisters. We have many sisters of different nationalities represented within Kappa Phi Lambda and being a cultural sorority, we promote cultural diversity amongst other values. We are an Asian interest sorority.

What is Pledging?
Pledging is a learning period when you journey into becoming a sister. There are no specific guidelines on how long it will be, or how hard, but the purpose of pledging is to challenge you and teach you more about yourself, your pledge sisters, and the sisters of Kappa Phi Lambda. Kappa Phi Lambda strictly abides by the rules and beliefs behind positive pledging. There is never a moment that Kappa Phi Lambda would put you in an embarrassing or harmful situation.

What is a Bid? How Do I Get One?
After the end of rush week, we give out bids, which is our invitation to you to pledge for the sorority. To be considered for a bid, you need to attend at least 1 GIM, 3 rush events, AGC forum, and Kappaccino. You also need a grade point average of 2.5 to qualify for a bid. Unfortunately we cannot take first semester freshmen because you need at least 12 college credits, but we do encourage them to come out to rush for us. If you receive a bid, you have 24 hours to consider it and come back to us and tell us whether or not you'd like to take the next step -- pledging.
